Hi everyone,
It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. No excuses, just hijacked by life as we all are from time to time.
I know that this may come across as common sense to many of you but I find myself needing to remind myself to do this from time to time. On this day, as I sit at home on Independence Day trying to recoup from my summer cold, I decided that the best way for me to nurse my cold is to think about things that I am grateful for that makes me happy instead of feeling sorry for myself.
At any point in time, we all have things in our lives that are not going the way we’d like. It’s easy to obsess over that and allow it to take over your life. From experience, I’ve discovered that the time I take in obsessing in negative thoughts is time completely wasted. Negativity is an energy vampire that has a way of building momentum and spiraling out of control. I’ve come to realize that whatever you set your mind to, GROWS.
Do you have a list of things that makes you happy? I know that I have such a list that I go to whenever I need a boost. I will share a few things that never fails to put a smile on my face.
-
I think about people I love who loves me…my family, friends and love and all the little things about them that I love.
-
I think being alive. I’ve survived cancer and so many life threatening illnesses. I am grateful to be alive.
-
I think about music! To be able to sing and share music is a blessing.
-
I think about the beauty of the nature that surrounds me that frequently goes unnoticed… the trees, the sky, the clouds, the moon and stars and the flowers…
-
I think about ice cream!
-
All the things I love to do!
When all else fails, I sing… I use music to express all my emotions and let it carry it away! It always works for me.
Everyone has a passion. If you don’t know what your passion is, you should take the time to find out what it is. It is something that you feel in your soul that defines you. Life is a lonely place without a passion. What is your passion? Is it music? Is it art? I would love to find out if you want to share it with me!
On this Independence Day, I wish all of you FREEDOM to pursue your passion and happiness!
Until next time!
Sending you all love!
