Hi everyone!
Its been a while since I’ve written. My work “happened” and the the rest is history! I just completed a huge deliverable on a big project yesterday and I am one happy camper… until the next deadline!
I cant believe that summer is over again! That always have a way of making me a little melancholy. BUT there’s nothing like MUSIC to revive the soul!
There are so many things musical in my life right now! Outside of work, it’s pretty my life! I lost track of the number of live performances I’ve had since the last time I’ve blogged. Now isn’t THAT SOMETHING? hahaha! I love it.
Currently I have a bunch of musical projects on my plate:
1) I co-host the Singer’s Forum open mic with John Koprowski on a bi-monthly basis. That is so much fun! I love emceeing! People seem to be enjoying me as well! What a cool way to spend every other Friday night! If you are free this Friday, October 4th, come join us!! Sign up starts at 7 PM, show starts at 7:30 PM. Dan Furman is the accompanist for the evening. We have a guest spotlight: Jim Speake!
2) I produced a bunch of community outreach shows for AIDS victims through Hearts and Voices (more to come). If you are interested in performing in one, please let me know!
3) I am taking the Arrangement Experience class with Lennie and Steven and that has been a blast so far. I love musical challenges! Learning new songs that I otherwise would not have learned and having it all rearranged into something else by Steven! So so so fun! All my classmates are quite awesome! I LOVE IT! There will be a show early November! I will post information on that soon!
4) Most excitingly, I have a new show in the works!! The name of my new show is:
They’d Only Just Begun…
A Carpenters Story
Directed by Lennie Watts, Musical Direction by Steven Ray Watkins
Stay tuned for more details! 🙂
Anyway, my lunch break is over, I gotta run for now but before I go, I got a suggestion for those of you who are feeling a touch of the Autumn Blues. Take the time to make a couple of lists of songs. One of them, songs that expresses your Autumn Blues and the other one, a list of songs that make you feel alive and happy. When you’re done, sing all your “blues” away, followed by all your “happy” songs! It works for me EVERY TIME! Give it a shot!
Later everyone!
xoxo
