Last night I enjoyed another musical evening at the Salon with my friends. The theme “Amour Amor, Liebe and Love” was “music” to my wedding singer ears! Ha ha ha! Yes, for those of you who don’t know, I was once a wedding singer. Disclaimer: Not the Adam Sandler type
I got to say that the Salon had over the course of the past few months became a second home for me. It is always a wonderful experience to go and share a night of music with so many friendly faces and people, once acquaintances to friends I would step up, hug and say hello. Last night I was first one up again and I sang “I Wont Last a Day Without You” by Karen Carpenter. I was immensely flattered by the gracious compliments I’ve received after my performance. One of the best compliments to my performance came from Bobbie Horowitz who was wiping tears away as she told me, “That was a wonderful performance. You brought tears to my eyes”. What else could a cabaret artist ask for? It made my night!
Tonight, the plan is for me to head uptown after work for the Fall meeting for the Blue Hill Troupe. I’ve been a member for a few years already. The troupe was part of my soul searching musical journey. I’ve drifted away from the theater world when I discovered Cabaret. As much as I am glad that I have found my musical destination, I am grateful for everything/everyone along the way that guided me to where I am right now. It’s been a while since I’ve seen my BHT friends and it would be nice to reconnect again.
Alright, lunch break over, it’s back to work for me! Happy Monday to all of you! I’ll be back later with some fun stuff!
