Happy Friday everyone,
It’s rare for me to write so regularly but I’ve made a little promise to myself for the New Year that I would try to do this whenever possible. I think the intention setting process is very good for execution.
I want to take a few moments to discuss something that we all experience in one way or another. I am no expert life coach but my methods have been tried and tested personally. It’s taken me years to get to this point of being able to map it out. I would like to share it with my readers. For what it’s worth, it may offer you a different way of looking at things.
Life is full of challenges on the day to day level. Some people are lucky enough to be born into a life of few challenges where as others find each and every day itself a challenge. I consider myself somewhere in between the two. As part of my “pursuit” for the ultimate state of happiness in my life, I’ve dealt with many challenges ranging from life threatening illnesses, loss of people I love, abuses and periods of financial devastation.
In the face of challenges, there are only a few ways that you can approach it. Before reaching a point of emotional stability, most people have the tendency to run away from challenges, hide from challenges, find excuses to avoid challenges, blame others, sabotage good things they have to run away from challenges, take detours from confronting challenges whenever possible. It doesn’t matter how you say it… the underlying key can be traced to one word “FEAR”. It is so easy to just say to oneself “It’s just the way I am. I can’t help it”, “The reason I have this challenge is because “an object/someone” made me feel (a certain way), “I have always done it this way so it is all I can do”, ” Let me do something else and distract myself for a while, give it space, the challenge will go away when I come back” or “I can’t take this, it’s too much for me to handle”. Sounds familiar? I, myself have been guilty of having those conversations with myself in my mind.
BUT, I have a message for you, running away from challenges will never make it really go away. You might have temporary relief from it but one important life lesson that I have learned is the lesson that giving in to FEAR is never a solution. Fear always come back to haunt me in one way or another. FEAR is a negative energy and the only way to dispel that energy is by facing the challenge head on, getting out of your comfort zone, choosing to do something you’ve never done to replace it with positive energy, which will ALWAYS come to you when you FACE and OVERCOME that fear. Facing a challenge head on is the only way to go. I’ve discovered it through trial and error. Doing it any other way will simply manifest and perpetuate the negative energy associated with fear. When you walk around with that type of energy, you end up attracting more of that into your life. You need to dispel it to make room for the growth of something better.
Aside from my ritual of reading the Serenity prayer each night, I have created a quote for myself, a mantra of sorts “Fear and challenges will only be there until you chose to FACE it.” When you face a fear head on and come out of it, regardless of what happens, you will acquire the wisdom and evolve into a better form of yourself, bringing more positive energy into your life. People around me frequently comment on the warmth they feel around me. People in general tend to gravitate towards me because they frequently tell me that being with me makes them feel safe. They can share their inner most thoughts with me and feel accepted by me. Even strangers call me “Sunshine”. I was not always like that. It is the result of my Evolutionary process which took years of facing and overcoming my fears (which I still have many)!
It’s Friday, I invite you to join me in facing one formidable challenge or fear that you may have in your life! Let’s bring out the most courageous part of ourselves and EVOLVE TOGETHER to get closer to HAPPINESS!
Sending you love, light and strength to EVOLVE into a BETTER YOU!!
