Happy Monday~
It’s my lunch break and I finally have a moment to reflect on yesterday!
Wow! Where do I begin….
Let me start by saying that it was one of the best birthdays I’ve experienced in my life! I spent my birthday doing what I love more than anything else in the world… singing Carpenters songs on stage in front of a wonderfully receptive audience, professionally recorded into a live CD! So many of my friends were there in spite of the horrendous blizzard! What else could I ask for?
I want to say thank you to my director Lennie Watts and music director Steven Ray Watkins who help me manifest the Carpenters show! They were there with me front the conception to the very end. They are not simply directors to me, they are my friends, my mentors and so much more! THANK YOU! My awesome band members; my drummer Tim Lykins and my bass player Marco Brehm. They were both amazing musicians!! I am so fortunate to have such a wonderful team!! THANK YOU! This show is one that I will always hold near and dear. One day, I would like to do it again!
NOW TO MENTION MY WONDERFUL FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO BRAVED THE BLIZZARD TO BE THERE FOR ME, MANY OF THEM BEARING GIFTS (which was unnecessary as their presence was all the gift I need): Lou and his beautiful wife Rebecca who came all the way from Long Island JUST to see my show, Christy Frye who came all the way from Washington DC with an injured back just to see my show, Maria Ottavia who had to suffer through 3 hours of horrible commute from Staten island and missing the show, Maria Moncada who came from NJ, Ed Herson who ran all over the city just to get to me on time, the amazing Bill Zeffiro who juggled his schedule to be there, Sandra Bargman who juggled her schedule and drove in the blizzard to be there, the beautiful Maureen Taylor, Christopher Tefft who manned my video, the beautiful Dana Lorge and Bobbie Horowitz, Peggy Eason, the handsome Dorian Woodruff, my long time supporter and friend John Koprowski, Susan Neuffer, Helen Glassman, Eve Eaton, Parker Scott, Charles Baran who was moving in the blizzard in Queens but came just to bring me flowers, Jason Wisdom and his girlfriend, Marco’s girlfriend Francine, Sheree Sano, Jason Ellis who was off yesterday but came just to help set up my recording and support me, Sidney Meyer… the list can go on and on…I am sure I will be coming back to add more names along the way… not to mention the “love” that I was receiving on Facebook all through the day! So many of my friends who couldn’t make it there were there for me in spirit and I am SUPER GRATEFUL for their thoughts!
MY DEEPEST GRATITUDE AND LOVE TO YOU ALL~~ THANK YOU!!! YOU MADE MY DAY AND WITNESSED ONE OF MY DREAMS COME TRUE! I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS DAY! THANK YOU!!
After the show, I went to the Salon hosted by the wonderful Kim Grogg and sang once again, my Carpenters medley! The crowd sang me happy birthday after my song! It was the most beautiful happy birthday I’ve ever heard!
My birthday started and ended on a magical note! I slept through the night like a baby!
Now… back to work
Sending all my love to you all on this Monday!
xoxo
