Happy New Year Everyone!
It’s been quite a while since I’ve blogged. I seem to go through spurts of creative thoughts.
I cant believe that 2013 is over! What a year for me! A year full of experiences… both good and bad but I’ve weathered through it all, like each and every one of you with your experiences… IN ONE PIECE! KUDOS to us all!
So… one of the things that I always like to do at the end of a year is take inventory of not the bad, but the good things that happened in the past year… things I am grateful for, accomplishments to be proud of. You should all do this as well. It’s a wonderful exercise… so empowering and positive!
Here I am sitting in my bed, doing just that, on New Years day. 2013 had given me many blessings (I will start with blessings and continue tomorrow…):
- First and foremost, I am alive and healthy again as well as everyone I love. That… in itself is a blessing… something that one can easily take for granted.
- I have a roof over my head, food on the table and for the first time in my life, I am content with who I am and grateful for what I have in my life.
- I am surrounded by wonderful people who loves and cares for me. Family and friends who are there for me at not just my best but at my worst of times… (You know who you are… THANK YOU! I love you all!)
- I seem to have a musical guardian angel watching over me. I have been blessed with so much music in my life. I’ve actually been in more live performances in 2013 than I can remember or count.. not to mention that I’m actually co-hosting an open mic! How amazing is that? For someone who had all but given up on ever being on stage again, it’s a miracle in itself! Thank you to everyone who made this possible for me, for being there for me. Especially Steven Ray Watkins and Lennie Watts (to be continued tomorrow)
